I posted a poll a couple weeks ago regarding Perplexity closing, and every single person that replied to that poll said “No, don’t close it!” What happened afterward? I replied to a bunch of things that needed replying to, v.anity replied to one thread she was in, and nothing else. No one else bothered to post after they told me specifically, and some even replied, not to close Perplexity down. This activity check for June is now over as of the 7th, and you know who all replied? Myself, v.anity, and Levi.

Unfortunately I do not believe the three of us, alone, can carry this site the way it currently is and I’m not willing to pressure v.anity and Levi into it, because I do not believe it to be fair. All I can say is that if the rest of you aren’t going to care enough to post after you told me not to close Perplexity, then neither shall I. Only a select couple people had any real reason why they couldn’t post, and I understood. The rest of you either never gave any reasons but just… didn’t post, or admittedly were just too plain lazy. Unfortunately I alone can not make this site be active.

Keeping a site active is a group effort, not one person’s responsibility. This responsibility to keep Perplexity active fell on every single member, and in the end I’ve come to conclude that only about three or four people were willing to take said responsibility, and the rest of you just didn’t seem to care all that much. Am I angry about this? You bet, but honestly I’m far more disappointed in the lack of… sportsmanship maybe is about the word I’m looking for. In the end I concluded that the only people that deserve a genuine “Thank you for trying your best to keep Perplexity active” are the following:

v.anity
Levi
Lyricism
Jenn

To everyone else, thank you for being a member of Perplexity and posting when you had the desire to. However again, keeping a site active (not just Perplexity specifically) is the responsibility of every single member on the site, not just one or two.

I am going to be working on a multi-genre, private site for both role playing, general chatting, and developing characters (originally it was just going to be for me to develop my own characters, but I decided with the closing of Perplexity that I was going to only invite a select few people). Understanding this, I know for certain that the people I listed above will be the first to receive invitations to this site. I will not be publicly posting the site’s link however. To v.anity, Levi, Lyricism, and Jenn, I will let you guys know when the site is about done so you guys can join it. Everyone else will need to contact me by email and give a reason for wanting to be part of it before I will give you the site’s address.
